The Komoka Kings have acquired 2008-born forward Jacob Vandeven from the St. Thomas Stars in exchange for 2008-born defenceman Nathan Gaitens.
Vandeven, a Komoka native, stands 6’5/200 pounds. He is a 2024 5th round pick, 89th overall, of the Owen Sound Attack in the OHL Draft. Vandeven played last year with the Stars, where he posted 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points in 46 games played as a 16-year old. Notably, Vandeven had three multi-point games, including a career-high 4 point night on October 6th 2024 in Welland and his first career hat trick on January 3rd 2025 vs. LaSalle.
Prior to joining the GOJHL, Vandeven played for the Elgin-Middlesex Canucks U16 team, where he posted 9-6-15 in 29 GP. He also played for Kings Head Coach Johnny Warren at the U15 level.
